BUILDING RESILIENCE

Deteriorating water quality is a major challenge for Dublin bay, we need rapid water quality testing to ensure that our swimming areas are safe for citizens. Seapoint is one of the most popular swimming areas in the country, we need to keep this amenity open for our citizens.

Flooding is a major concern for many Dubliners, we need to measure and manage the impacts of rising sea levels along the coast. As a priority, flood management and protective infrastructure is needed now to prevent over topping and subsidence of the Dart line.

BUILDING OUR SEAFRONT

People used to travel from across the country to visit the Blackrock Baths. The site represents an incredible opportunity to reinvigorate the area and connect the sea front with the community.

It is important that we facilitate people to connect with nature and access the sea front. Currently, steep narrow concrete steps are the only way to reach the Baths. Building an accessible open access area with seating, bathing facilitates and viewing points is a priority Conor will drive.

BUILDING GREEN COMMUNITIES

In the short term housing is the most pressing challenge facing Ireland. As a father with two young children Conor understands the importance and difficulty people face in finding a home. It's critical that we provide houses so that people can buy and live in the community they grew up in.

In addressing this issue it is critical that we build housing that is sympathetic to the scale of the area and make it available not just to rent but to purchase. Conor will be a strong voice for energy efficient, mixed use developments, which are connected to public transport links.

BUILDING CONNECTED INFRASTRUCTURE

Conor has a wealth of experience in delivering accessible and active travel projects. The council is a leading example on active travel infrastructure, now we need to focus on linking our schools to the cycle network. Access to safe infrastructure is essential for promoting mental and physical wellbeing.

In addition to a connected cycle system, Conor will ensure that all children have access to a playground within walking distance of their homes. He will work with the local authority and community groups to create new parks, gardens, and other green spaces from Booterstown to Deansgrange.
